What is LARP?

Live Action Roleplay (LARP) is an immersive, interactive form of storytelling where participants step into the roles of characters they’ve created, acting out their stories in real-time within a shared fictional world. Unlike traditional board games or video games, LARP allows players to physically act out their character’s actions, speak in-character, and interact with others in a dynamic environment.

In LARP, you are not just imagining your character—you become them. You’ll wear costumes, carry props, and engage in various activities that bring your character’s story to life. Whether it's a dramatic showdown in the street, a quiet moment of reflection by the campfire, or a tense negotiation in the saloon, your choices and actions directly shape the unfolding events.

At Wyld West, you will experience the world of Saxum, where the frontier is full of danger, mystery, and opportunity. As a player, you’ll work together with others to tell epic stories of adventure, rivalry, love, and loss, while exploring the themes of politics, power, and survival. Your character’s journey is yours to craft, from starting as a struggling settler to becoming a hero, villain, or anything in between.

Accessibility at Wyld West LARP

At Wyld West LARP, we welcome everyone and strive to create an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all. However, we recognize that there may be accessibility challenges for some individuals, and we want to be upfront about the realities of our game environment.Where we are able, we will strive to make reasonable adjustments to enable everyone who wants to join our game has the opportunity to do so, however, we recognise that there may be accessibility challenges.

Our events take place in an outdoor setting, featuring uneven ground, woodland areas, and camping. While we aim to provide as much information as possible about site layout, terrain, and facilities, we acknowledge that these conditions may not be suitable for everyone. We encourage all potential players to review this information and make an informed decision.

As we will be using predominantly scout sites, we will review our options to make our game as accessible as possible before each event, and release information detailing the specific features and challenges of any site we may be using in advance.

The game includes both combat and non-combat encounters, and players who prefer not to engage in combat can participate under our Non-Combatant rules, ensuring they can still be fully involved in the story and action.
