Death and Dying
When a character is mortally wounded, by any means, they begin a two-minute death count. Unless some form of healing or stabilisation begins, after two minutes the character is dead.
The timing of the death count can be altered by various effects in the game, such as the ‘Fleeting’ flaw, meaning not everyone will have the same two-minute count. It is the responsibility of each player to understand and keep track of their own death count.
During the first half of a character's death count, you may yell out in pain and crawl around, attempting to stay within about 6 feet of where you fell. In the second half, you will fall unconscious—no more yelling, moving around, etc. This is intended to enhance the roleplay experience for all participants and should be roleplayed in the spirit of the game.
After Your Character's Death
Once your character’s death count has timed out, your character is now dead.
You may, if you wish, remain where you died so others can continue roleplaying around you. However, this is not required.
If you’d like to take some time out before creating a new character, feel free to spend time in the out-of-character area or in your personal tent for as long as you need. We understand that players put a lot of emotion into their characters, and losing one can be a significant moment that may require time to decompress. When you're ready to create a new character, go to the Post Office and speak to a member of staff, who will assist you in making a new character.
