A character can possess whatever basic items they need to function in the game world. This includes:

  • Character costume (clothing, hats, accessories, etc.).
  • Weapons (foam/LARP-safe melee weapons, cap guns, or other approved props).
  • Notebooks, maps, and other roleplay tools.

These items do not require an item card and are considered part of your character’s standard equipment.

In-Game Items & Item Cards

Many items in the game will be represented by laminated cards, coloured ribbons, or paper tags attached to them. These represent specific in-game resources, potions, tools, or special items that have unique effects on the game world. These items are issued by the game team during an event and are carefully monitored. Some items will have an expiry date, meaning they must be used before a certain time. Certain powerful or unique items may have two item cards:

  • An Owner Card, which explains the item's effects.
  • An Item Card, which must be attached to the item but does not reveal its function.

Starting vs Acquired Equipment

  • Items you start with do not require an item card.
  • Starting resources (such as crafting materials) will have an item card but do not require a physical representation.
  • Items acquired in-game may require a provided item card, which must be attached to a suitable in-character representation.

Representing Your Items

For immersion, we encourage players to physically represent their equipment whenever possible. If an item cannot be reasonably represented (such as potions, rare materials, or abstract magical effects), then the item card itself is the representation. If you acquire or trade items during the game, ensure that the corresponding item card is handed over as well—no card, no item!
