Definitions

  • Discrimination – Unjust or prejudicial treatment of people, especially on the grounds of Protected Characteristics.
  • Discriminatory Language – The use of language or terms that offend, denigrate, or exclude different categories of people because of Protected Characteristics.
  • Protected Characteristics – Age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender reassignment, race (including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, disability, marital status or civil partnership, socio-economic background, pregnancy, parenthood, or any other characteristic.

Our Commitment

Wyld West LARP welcomes and seeks to include all attendees regardless of any Protected Characteristic.

We do not accept any Out Of Character (OOC) discrimination by, or towards, any attendees. In Character (IC) behaviour based on OOC discrimination is also not permitted.

Any accusation of discrimination will be addressed in accordance with the company’s Complaints Policy.

Behaviour and Language Expectations

No discriminatory language is permitted at Wyld West LARP events. If an attendee believes another attendee is using discriminatory language, they are encouraged to:

  • Challenge the behaviour directly, if they feel safe and comfortable doing so
  • Seek support from a member of staff

If a challenge does not resolve the incident, it should be escalated to staff, who will handle the matter in line with Wyld West LARP's policies and procedures.

It is not permitted to deliberately misgender another person. Please respect individuals’ pronouns. If someone corrects you, please amend your language accordingly.

Accessibility and Facilities

When hiring venues, Wyld West LARP will, as far as practical, hire gender-neutral and accessible bathrooms. However, some sites may only offer gender-specific or limited accessible facilities.

Wyld West LARP will aim to designate bathrooms as gender-neutral wherever possible, but this may not always be feasible due to venue constraints.

Individual Needs

Wyld West LARP welcomes open, individual conversations regarding accessibility needs, including the use of service animals at events. Please contact us in advance to discuss how we can support your participation.
